I chewed on my bottom lip as I paced the room. Jagger, Jye, Heath and Kynan were all asleep in the large bed. Lucifer sat on the couch watching me as I continued my pacing. My brain was swirling with thoughts. Plans came and went.

“I don’t like sending them on their own,” I said looking over at Lucifer.

He nodded his head. “Their parents will be with them,” he assured me for what fell like the hundredth time.

“I know. But it’s not enough. I feel like we are sending them in completely blind. I mean what if everyone in Heaven was in on Michael’s plan?” I voiced.

Lucifer shrugged his shoulders. “We won’t know until they go there and find some information.”

“What will we do if they get trapped there?” I questioned.

Lucifer stood and walked over to me. He placed his hands on my biceps and looked down into my eyes. “We will find a way to get them back.”

I frowned. “How? You and I can’t get there,” I whined.

Lucifer smiled a tight smile down at me. “I will find a way. Just trust that they will be alright. This is only a fact-finding mission. They aren’t going there to attempt to free God yet. They will just find out what they can, then we will come up with a plan for the rest.”

I sighed. It was the best I could ask for. I didn’t like it. I wanted at least Lucifer to be there to protect them. But until we found a way for him to enter Heaven, there was no way it could happen. Movement at the doorway took my attention.

Colin stood in the doorway of the bedroom. His face was pulled tight into concern. “Wake the boys, we need to go now,” he said bluntly before turning and leaving.
